How Safety Score is calculated for drivers
The Safety Score is a number between 0 and 100 that determines how safe a driver is on a daily basis. The benchmark for the Safety Score is set to 80 by default but you can change this in My Benchmarks. Harsh driving incidents lower this score.
The score is calculated by an algorithm based on various factors, including the number of moderate and severe:
- Harsh acceleration events
- Hard braking events
- Harsh cornering events
The score also includes the total distance travelled. High speed events and risky driving hours are not included.
Note: A driver must accumulate at least ten miles before their score displays.
