Immobilising a vehicle

To prevent a vehicle from being started, you can send an immobilisation request to a vehicle’s tracking unit. Once the request is complete, the vehicle will be immobilised. The vehicle cannot be restarted until you remobilise the vehicle.

Note: If you have migrated from Trackeasy and Ornicar, follow the procedure outlined in Method 2.

Method 1

To immobilise a vehicle, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Edit Vehicle screen.
    • From Live Map, do the following:
      • Choose Vehicle status, and then select the vehicle from the list.
      • Right-click the vehicle status icon and choose Vehicle Options > Edit Vehicle.
        The Edit Vehicle window displays.
    • From Admin, do the following:
      • Choose Vehicle List to see your list of vehicles.
      • Search for a vehicle using the search function or find a vehicle in the list.
      • Click on the edit icon to access the Edit Vehicle screen.
  2. Open the Immobilisation tab.
  3. Choose IMMOBILISE VEHICLE.
  4. Select a reason for immobilising the vehicle and click CONTINUE.

The status updates to Request Pending. You can cancel a request by clicking CANCEL IMMOBILISATION.

Note: If the immobilisation request cannot be completed, the status updates to Request Failed.

When the request is complete, the status changes to Immobilised.

Method 2

Note: This procedure is for customers who have migrated from Trackeasy or Ornicar only.

  1. In Admin, choose Vehicle List to see your list of vehicles.
  2. Search for a vehicle using the search function or find a vehicle in the list.
  3. Click on the edit icon to access the Edit Vehicle screen.
  4. On the Details tab, choose ACTIVATE.
  5. To prevent vehicles from being accidentally immobilised, you will be asked to confirm that you want to immobilise a vehicle. Choose Yes.
