Replace camera SD cards

You need to get the SD card from your camera so that you can:

You can put the same SD card back in the camera or replace it with a new SD card that has more storage capacity. SD cards for cameras require specific formatting and must be purchased from Verizon Connect.

Before you begin

Check your camera’s indicator lights for any issues or updates you may need to address. The light sequence should show the following:

Red-off.png

Off

Blue-on.png

On

Green-on.png

On

Sound-off_alternative.png

No sound

If the light sequence is different from the above, troubleshoot the camera indicator lights before removing the SD card.

Once an SD card is removed from the camera; you cannot request any videos still stored on the card through the Video on Demand feature.

Replace an SD card in a road-facing camera (model 2)

To remove the SD card:

  1. Turn off the ignition of the vehicle that is connected to the camera.
  2. The SD card can be found behind a panel on the side of the camera. Unlock the security cover using the barrel key provided with the camera.

  3. Remove the card from the camera by pressing down gently on the card once - it will pop out.
  4. Insert the new SD card back into the SD slot on the camera.
  5. Replace the security cover and lock with the key.

Replace an SD card in a road-facing camera (model 1)

To remove the SD card:

  1. Turn off the ignition of the vehicle that is connected to the camera.Model_1_SD_card.png

  2. Use a Torx screwdriver (as provided with camera) to unscrew the panel on the side of the camera.

  3. Press the current SD card to remove it from the camera as per the red arrow.Press_to_remove_SD_card.png
  4. Insert the new SD card into the SD slot by pressing gently.

  5. Replace panel on camera and restart the ignition to reboot the camera.
