Reattach cameras to windshields

If a camera is not attached to the windshield correctly during installation, the camera can become unstuck. The camera is then no longer able to capture videos. Reattach the camera to continue receiving videos.

Before you begin

You’ll need the following:

  • 3M VHB adhesive pads
  • Alcohol wipes

The windshield glass temperature should not be too hot or cold (recommended between 50°F – 80°F).

Procedure

  1. Clean the area on the windshield where the camera will be placed using the alcohol wipes that came with your camera.

Make sure you remove any residue from the original adhesive pad and that the area is completely dry before you continue.
You can find more information about camera placement in the Dash Cam Installation Guide.
  2. Remove the 3M adhesive pad attached to the camera bracket and clean the bracket with an alcohol wipe.

  3. Attach a new 3M adhesive pad to the camera bracket and press firmly.

  1. Peel off the protective strip from the adhesive pad.

  2. Stick the camera to the windshield.3.jpg

Important: You must hold the camera in position with firm pressure for no less than 30 seconds. Failure to do this will result in a poor bond between the camera and the windshield.
