Adverse driving conditions can significantly reduce road visibility and traction, making it harder for drivers to control their vehicles and react to hazards. This can lead to an increase in accidents, including collisions, rollovers, and hydroplaning.
Heavy rain, road surface spray, snow, and sleet can severely limit a driver’s visibility through the windscreen, making it difficult to see other vehicles, pedestrians, and road signs. Icy, flooded and snow-covered road surfaces can cause tires to lose grip, leading to skidding and loss of control.
The road is covered by snow, ice or surface water. This reduces the driver’s visibility of the road and any hazards, as well as decreasing the vehicle’s tire traction.
