Driver assignment records the activities of a driver with the vehicle(s) they drive. There are various ways to assign a driver to a vehicle, depending on the method your company has chosen.

A driver can assign themselves to a vehicle in the following ways:
Tacho - Drivers typically insert a “digital driver card” into the digital tachograph device installed in the vehicle.
Driver ID key fobs - Drivers tap a physical key fob on a reader installed in the vehicle.
Reveal Driver Plus app - Drivers log into the Reveal Driver Plus app and assign themselves to a vehicle so they can perform a vehicle inspection and submit the inspection form. Drivers can also view inspection history details.
Reveal Driver app - Drivers log into the Reveal Driver app and start tracking driving time. The app also helps drivers to manage their daily stops and performance against company benchmarks.
Admins can assign drivers to vehicles in the following ways:
Reveal > Admin > Driver List - Admins edit individual driver profiles in Reveal. This method is recommended for drivers who usually drive the same vehicle.
Reveal > Admin > Create a new driver - Admins create individual driver profiles in Reveal. This method is recommended for drivers who usually drive the same vehicle.
Reveal > Marketplace > API and webhook library - Admins use the Driver Assignment API to bulk upload new driver profiles and vehicle assignment information. This method requires access to the Developer Portal.
