Once your ECM-compatible vehicle tracker is installed, you can configure Reveal to display accurate Engine Control Module (ECM) data. Setting up cost assumptions and entering your vehicle’s initial odometer reading ensures that reports and dashboards show correct figures from day one.

Entering the initial odometer reading
Reveal begins tracking mileage from the point when a vehicle tracker is first installed. To ensure the odometer in Reveal matches your vehicle’s actual mileage, enter the initial odometer reading.
To enter the initial odometer reading:
- In the navigation bar, click your account profile icon.
- Go to Admin > Fleet and device list > Select vehicle > Click the three dots in the Actions column > View vehicle.

- Click Save.
The odometer value in Reveal now reflects your vehicle’s total mileage.
Setting up cost assumptions for fuel reporting
Before running the Fuel efficiency report with ECM data, enter your average fuel cost rates. This allows Reveal to calculate estimated fuel costs and losses.

- In the navigation bar, click your account profile icon.
- Click My Account.
- Click Cost Assumptions.
- Enter your average fuel rates for the time period you plan to report on.
- Click Save.
Entering initial engine hours
Engine hours in Reveal accumulate from the point the tracker is installed. If you want Reveal to reflect the vehicle’s total engine hours, enter the initial value.
To enter initial engine hours:
- In the navigation bar, click your account profile icon.
- Go to Admin > Fleet and device list > Select vehicle > Click the three dots in the Actions column > View vehicle.
- Click the Overview tab.
- In the Usage tile, click the pencil icon.
- Enter the current engine hours in the Total engine hours field.
- Click Save.
Verifying ECM data
After setup, confirm that ECM data is populating correctly:
- Go to Live Map.
- Select the vehicle you configured.
- Click More details in the vehicle balloon.
- Verify that the Diagnostics and data panel says "The tracker is in ECM mode."
If the panel does not display ECM data, contact Support.
