Alerts Overview

Alerts give you real-time notifications of important events related to drivers and vehicles. These events can range from a harsh driving incident, such as hard braking, to a notification about a late start.

The rules for any alert can be set so that you, your drivers, Reveal users, administrators, or even non-users of Reveal, are notified when an incident occurs. This is done when creating an Alert.

Notifications can be received on-screen in Reveal, on the Reveal Manager app, by email, and by text message.

Alerts Overview

When you open Alerts from the main menu in Reveal, you will arrive at the Overview tab. You also see an Alert Log tab and a My alerts tab. You can create an alert from any of these tabs.

The Overview tab shows you a summary of the notifications you have received from each of your alerts, in a tile format, for the time period selected.

To begin to receive notifications, set up alerts.

To control what you see in this overview of your notifications, choose a time period. The default setting shows alerts from Today, sorted by Most Triggered.

Each tile on the screen represents a different alert that you have set up and displays a summary of that alert for the time period chosen.

A tile summary will show:

  • The name you have given the alert - or the default name if you did not edit it.

  • The number of times that alert has been triggered within the chosen time period.

  • The number of unread alerts - shown with a small red badge (Learn how to mark notifications as read).

  • The type of alert.

  • The time and date the alert was last triggered.

From each tile, you can also access an Alert Summary.

Alert summary

Select a tile to see the Alert summary page where you view Alert trends, Alert log, and Rank for your chosen alert. You can also edit the alert by selecting EDIT ALERT.

Alert trends will display automatically in a bar graph and by default are shown for this month. You can filter by day, week, month, and year.  Each bar represents the number of alerts triggered for your chosen date range - hover over an individual bar to see exactly how many.

Alert log shows a table of alerts, by vehicle, driver, alert value, and date triggered. By default the table is sorted by the most recent date an alert was triggered. Select any of the column headings to change the sorting to your preference. You can filter by individual Vehicles and Drivers, or by All . Select EXPORT CSV to download a CSV file of this list.

Rank shows a list of which vehicles and assets have triggered the alert most, and their ranking position. Select EXPORT CSV to download a CSV file of this list.
