Trip Logger Overview

The Trip Logger keeps track of all journeys, or ‘trips’, that your vehicles make.

A single journey is recorded each time a vehicle’s engine is turned on, the vehicle moves from one location to another with the engine on, and then the engine is turned off.
The start and end of each trip is bookmarked by automatically recorded time and location data.

To claim back tax for your journeys, you must assign a driver and a classification to each journey.
You can classify a journey as a personal or a business trip. If you are in Germany, you can also classify a journey as a commute.

Any changes that you make, such as specifying a trip classification, must be made within 7 days of the start date of the journey.
Changes that you make after this period might not be considered by tax authorities.
