Road-facing camera (model 2) misaligned (Error codes: Road camera vertically misaligned and Horizon not in view)
A Reveal admin with access to Admin > Camera List may see the following camera error codes: Road camera vertically misaligned, and Horizon not in view. Use this article and the camera alignment preview to adjust the camera angles.
Camera misalignment affects the road-facing camera’s calibration and may trigger false events, too many events, or no events. When the camera is mounted in the correct position and the lens is angled accurately, unsafe driving behaviours are detected and videos are uploaded to Reveal.
Find the barrel key and hex key supplied with the camera. To order more supplies, contact Support. Allow 5-10 working days for shipping.

Get your vehicle ready
Make sure that:
The vehicle is on.
The vehicle is in an area with good network coverage.
The vehicle is parked on a flat surface with at least 25 yards (23 metres) of clear space ahead.
There is a horizon, surrounding buildings and/or parallel road markings in sight. This helps to inform accurate horizon calibration. See examples.
Step 1. Remove the security cover
Use the barrel key to unlock the security camera’s cover.
Step 2. Adjust the camera lens
Pull and twist the side panel to adjust the road-facing lens mount. The angle should be relative to the slope of the vehicle’s windshield.
