Update an asset tracker's daily check-in rate and check-in rate when moving from its device settings in Reveal. Choose rates that match the tracker type and how often the asset moves to balance timely updates with battery life.
For non-powered asset trackers, setting a check-in rate of more than 4 times per day will significantly increase power consumption and shorten the tracker’s battery life.

- Locate the Check-in rate when moving field.
- Click the down arrow to open options.
-
Select an interval:
-
For powered trackers: 30 seconds or 90 seconds.
By default, powered trackers check-in every 30 seconds when moving if the tracker is receiving external power. When no external power is received, the trackers check in once an hour.
-
For non-powered trackers: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 45 minutes.
For non-powered assets, we recommend that you only use the Check-in rate when moving setting for assets that rarely move. If an asset is moved daily, this setting will increase power consumption and shorten the tracker’s battery life
-
- Click SAVE CHANGES.
- Confirm in the dialog box that appears.
-
Click SAVE to finalize.
Once saved, your new settings will apply the next time the tracker checks in (usually within 24 hours). - To complete the update, move the asset to an area with good network coverage for 5 to 10 minutes within the next 24 hours. This allows the tracker to receive and sync your configuration changes. For powered assets, turn the asset on.
