Use the Find Nearest feature to identify and dispatch the closest vehicles or assets to a specific location. This helps you improve response times, reduce fuel costs, and manage your fleet more efficiently by providing accurate distance and travel estimates.
You can open the Find Nearest feature from the Live Map in three ways:
Right-click any location on the map.
Right-click the status icon of a vehicle, driver, or asset on the map.
Select the three-dot icon next to a vehicle or asset in the Vehicle Status list.
Using Find Nearest
The Find Nearest feature opens a map in a new window. On the left, you will see a list of up to 10 active vehicles or assets closest to your selected location that have been active in the last 24 hours.
If the list is incomplete:
Use the Group: Vehicles Selected drop-down to ensure you have selected all relevant groups.
Adjust the Time Frame. By default, the list only shows vehicles updated within the last three days.
Each item in the list displays its distance from the selected point and an estimated travel time. Select GET DIRECTIONS to view the specific route, distance, and estimated travel time to a vehicle.
Estimated travel times are powered by Google Maps. These calculations include:
Available local data
Speed limits and recommended speeds
Speeds derived from road types
Historical average speeds
Actual travel times from previous users
Real-time traffic information
Note
When you select a vehicle or asset location, you are selecting its position at that specific moment. The vehicle or asset may continue to move to a new location.
