Assigning drivers links your team’s activity directly to your fleet data. This moves beyond simply tracking vehicle locations to help you understand individual performance and improve safety.
Your company can choose from several assignment methods depending on your needs.

Driver assignment benefits
By assigning drivers to vehicles, you can:
- Improve safety and coaching: Identify exactly which driver triggered a safety event, such as harsh braking or speeding. For Integrated Video users, you can see which driver triggered a video event and use that footage to coach their driving behavior.
- Track performance scores: Monitor individual safety scores in the Benchmarks and Reports tabs. If you use Integrated Video, you can also track specific Video driver safety scores and Video average safety scores.
- Simplify compliance: Automatically sync driver data with Hours of Service (HOS) and ELD logs to meet legal requirements and reduce manual paperwork.
- Boost real-time visibility: See exactly who is driving on Live Map. This helps dispatchers provide accurate ETAs and assign the right driver to new jobs.
- Protect your business: Maintain a clear record of who was driving at any given time to support insurance claims or resolve disputes.
