View the activation status for your built-in telematics

This article describes where to go to view the activation status for the telematics hardware that is built into your vehicle. Telematics hardware does not need to be installed into your vehicle, but it does require activation tasks.

To view a list of all your vehicles with built-in telematics and their activation statuses:

  1. In Reveal, click your initials in the upper right corner of the screen.
  2. Click My Account.
  3. In the Manage your equipment and service requests section, click Built-in telematics.

  4. The following table lists the details and activation statuses for all your vehicles with built-in telematics:

These are the possible activation statuses and associated tasks:

Activation status

Required task

Vehicle requires Ford Marketplace consent

Provide consent for your vehicle in Ford Marketplace.

Vehicle activation drive required

Take your vehicle for a drive for a few minutes, so that the vehicle tracker starts sending data to Reveal.

Processing information

Reveal is in the process of creating a connection with the telematics built into the vehicle. Wait for a few minutes and check the status again. If the vehicle stays in this state for more than an hour, contact support.

Vehicle connected

No action required. The vehicle is connected with Reveal and can be tracked.
