Edit a driver’s ELD logs or add a status in Reveal

This article describes how to add a status to a driver’s ELD logs or edit a driver’s ELD logs as an administrator in Reveal. This might be necessary if a driver makes a mistake when changing their ELD status; for example, by forgetting to change from On Duty to Off Duty.

Note

In Reveal, you cannot manually add driving time to a driver’s log. Any driving time that is not assigned to a driver is captured as unidentified miles. You can assign unidentified miles to a driver, and drivers can accept or reject unidentified miles under Miles assigned to you or Unidentified Miles for this Vehicle from within the Logbook app.

You can add or edit the statuses Off Duty (OFF), On Duty (ON), and Sleeper Berth (SB), as long as their times do not overlap with an existing Driving (DR) status.

You cannot edit automated ELD events and add, or edit, a Driving (DR) status. The only driving time you can edit in a driver’s logs is time recorded as Off Duty - Personal Use, On Duty - Yard Moves, and On Duty - Unregulated Driving.

Note:

  • After you add a status, you cannot delete it or change the start time.

  • You can make changes to a driver’s logs only if the logs have been certified.

  • If you edit a log and the driver accepts the changes, he or she must certify the log again. The driver can see the requirement to re-certify the log in the Logbook app.

  • You can make more than one change to a driver's logs.

  3. Click the Add img-en-us-lb_add_button.png icon on the right side of the screen.

  4. Enter the details for the status that you want to add to the driver’s ELD log, and then click Save.

You will see a warning banner of the changes trigger a violation of the driver's hours of service. The driver can approve or reject the changes in the Logbook app. You cannot add any Driving statuses. Driving periods that the driver forgot to add are automatically added into the driver's log as unidentified miles.
