Connect your ELD to a vehicle

This article describes how to connect your ELD automatically and manually to a vehicle, disconnect from a vehicle, deal with issues when connecting, and enable and disable the vehicle disconnection sound.

Connect automatically to a vehicle

When you log in, the LogBook app asks you to select the vehicle you want to connect to. The closest vehicles are displayed at the top of the list. To connect to a vehicle, select the vehicle name, and then select Connect. If you want to continue without selecting a vehicle, select Skip.

Once you are connected to a vehicle, you will automatically reconnect to the same vehicle if the connection is lost. For example, if you connect to a vehicle, walk away from the vehicle, and then return, your connection will be established again automatically. You might need to wait a few minutes for the vehicle to reconnect, but, if you turn on your vehicle’s ignition, it will speed up the process.

If the vehicle icon is green, you are connected to a vehicle. If it is red, you are not connected to a vehicle.

Connect manually to a vehicle

You can connect to a vehicle manually at any time after you have logged in to LogBook.

To connect to a vehicle manually:

  1. In the top right corner of the screen, tap the Vehicle icon.
